The Gippsland
International Film Festival (GIFF) is thrilled to unveil its 2026
program, showcasing bold short films across Gippsland!
GIFF’s
mission is to elevate Gippsland as a vibrant hub for filmmaking, film
culture and a platform for regional filmmakers. By championing independent
cinema and fostering connections between regional artists and the screen
industry, the festival aims to build a lasting creative legacy in
Victoria’s heart.
This year’s selection panel features six
local voices from Gippsland, including writers and directors Alana Auden
and Edward Yates, ensuring a program that is artistically rich and deeply
connected to the region.

Session 1: 6:30pm to 7:30pm -
Laugh Until You Cry - Narrative comedies and dramas about human
connection.
Session 2: 8:00pm to 9:00pm - The Elements -
Documentaries about connection to the environment.
Session 3: 9:30pm
to 10:30pm - Dark Regions - Narrative fictions from darker areas of
storytelling that focus on mystery, imagination and genre filmaking. (This
session is recommended for adults only)
Duration: Each
session runs for 1 hour with a 30 minute intermission between sessions.
