Monsieur Camembert's COHEN NOIR:
The Beauty, Mystery & Romance of Leonard Cohen

Sunday 3 August 7:30pm
Following
sold-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House, State Theatre and City Recital
Hall, Monsieur Camembert's Cohen Noir pays tribute to the music,
poetry and spirit of Leonard Cohen with breathtaking originality.
Presented by three-time ARIA Award-winners Monsieur Camembert, the concert
offers a thrilling reimagining of Cohen’s songs – blending jazz, swing,
latin, tango, klezmer and more.
With a powerhouse 10-piece band, a
40-piece choir and an all-star lineup of guest vocalists – including Rebecca
Barnard, Rob Snarski, Nina Ferro, and Canadian-born Brian Campeau
– this is far from a traditional tribute. Drawing on over three decades of
repertoire, the performance is interwoven with Cohen’s poetry and rare
audio of the man himself, creating a rich and immersive experience for
devoted fans and newcomers alike.
Critically praised for its
musical daring and emotional resonance, the show showcases Monsieur
Camembert’s signature fusion of virtuosity and soul. Expect timeless
classics like “Suzanne”, “Bird on a Wire” and “Hallelujah” transformed
with fresh arrangements and unforgettable energy.
“An uplifting
tribute… Monsieur Camembert does justice to the emotional, lyrical and
melodic intent of the songs while adding a new dimension.” – The
Weekend Australian
An adventurous and heartfelt homage to one
of the great voices of our time.
