Symphony Orchestra presents From Baroque to Brilliance.
Join
us for an unforgettable afternoon of masterworks, culminating in the
dramatic flair of Haydn’s Symphony No. 103 "Drumroll".
Experience the thrilling opening roll of the timpani and the symphony's
vibrant energy that showcases Haydn at his most inventive.
The
program also features the sublime Bach Double Violin Concerto, with
virtuosic soloists Edward Pople and Kieran Brown, whose
interplay promises both precision and passion.

Highlights:
W.A. Mozart – Symphony No. 1 in E-flat Major, K. 16
Composed
when Mozart was just eight years old, this youthful symphony is filled
with charm and glimpses of the genius to come. A delightful opener, it
captures the freshness of the Classical style in its early form.

Bach – Double Violin Concerto in D minor, BWV 1043 featuring Edward
Pople and Kieran Brown a cornerstone of the Baroque repertoire,
this concerto is celebrated for its elegant counterpoint and expressive
dialogue between the two solo violins. Pople and Brown bring a vibrant
interplay to this perennial favourite.
Joseph Haydn – Symphony
No. 103 in E-flat Major “Drumroll”
The concert
concludes with one of Haydn’s London Symphonies, nicknamed for its
dramatic timpani opening. Full of wit, grandeur, and inventive
orchestration, Symphony No. 103 showcases Haydn at the height of his
creative powers.
