Melbourne Celtic Festival On Tour 2026
Sunday 15 March 1:30pm
Following
the success of the inaugural Melbourne Celtic Festival ON TOUR,
we’re delighted to be back on the road in March 2026 with the best St
Patrick’s Day ‘Craic’. Theatres across Australia get ready for a full
afternoon of live Celtic music with acclaimed local and international acts.
Direct
from Dublin, duo Ghosts of Erin deliver traditional folk-rock,
blending gritty Irish ballads and fast-paced tunes. Australian Folk
Band of the Year winners and crowd favourites Austral return
with their signature sound — a high-energy fusion of Celtic dance music,
didgeridoo, fiddles, pipes, guitar and percussion that’s entirely their
own. Rounding out the lineup, Australian Youth Folk Artists of the Year,
Melbourne-based all-female trio Apolline combine close harmony
vocals, fiddle, cello and double bass in fresh, intricate arrangements of
Celtic songs and original compositions inspired by Scottish and Irish
traditions.
Melbourne Celtic Festival is the only Celtic
Music Festival touring Australian Theatres in 2026! With whistles, reels
and stomping jigs, it’s a full-scale music festival in one afternoon and
the perfect way to mark St Patrick’s Day in true Celtic style.
Bring
your friends, wear something green, and come ready for a night of
unforgettable live music.

Join the Ceilidh
After
the show, keep the music alive with a traditional Irish ceilidh around the
piano in the foyer! Malcolm (The McCaffery Family) and local fiddler Jayne
(Fiddlesticks Performing Arts) will lead this post-show jam session, open
to everyone. Lead sheets with melody and chords will be provided for
classic Irish folk tunes. Bring your acoustic instrument and join in,
raise your voice, step up for a dance, or just listen and enjoy! Guitars,
banjos, mandolins, tin whistles, flutes, bodhrans, bouzoukis, upright
bass, accordian, and similar instruments are all welcome. Whether you're a
seasoned session player or just love a good tune, everyone is welcome as
we celebrate the rich tradition of Irish folk music.
